Love from the group to Joanie (we miss you)

HIII!!! (This is to Joanie!!! From the group)

Hey Joanie!
I can't tell you how excited I am for you and all of the adventures you are experiencing now - and will experience throughout the semester!! What do you think of South Africa? What is surprising you? What are you learning? I want to know all about it! :) What do you think of the study so far? We miss you and your joy and all that you bring to the group! Sorry I haven't been better about posting to the blog...
I love you!
Jessica

Joni!!! I miss you so much here! You have so much good feedback and love woman. I wish you were here with us, but I'm totally glad you get this experience in South Africa! I pray that you have the best experience, learn more about God's love, and just get to let loose and enjoy life! Can't wait to see you again.
Gwenna

Joanie!  I've been thinking about you SO much!  I miss your smile and your precious joyful laughter.  Hopefully, you're having a great time and are experiencing God in unique and amazing ways!  I can't wait to hear the stories you'll bring back!  What has impacted you the most about the study so far?  Joanie, know that you have sisters back here that are praying for you and love you no matter what.  Like I said, you've been on my mind a lot lately.  Love you so much girlie!  Be blessed and sit quietly in the comfort of unconditional love by Emmanuel and your sisters.
Miss you.
Lexi

Sanibonani (Hello everyone)
I miss you all so much!! I find my self missing the good community I had with you ladies, that consisted of delicious dessert and God's Word, more and more. I have been trying to keep up with everything but it's been very difficult. I'm like 3 weeks behind in blogging and behind in homework and the list grows longer! We are busy here every single day... including the weekends.
I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner, I had a really hard week last week and everything kinda got put on hold. I found out when we got back from our safari last Sunday that my grandpa had suddenly passed away. I felt really alone here with no family and not being able to attend any services or say goodbye. If I could have prayer for that I would be very grateful.
I have been so encouraged by you girls though... you have definitely been a bright spot! To answer your questions:

Jessica,
I love South Africa! The people are amazing: beautiful, kind, hospitable, and humble. They are a reminder of how it is so important to be a servant at all times, even when we feel like we don't have much to give. I'm surprised by how much I've seen Christ in people here, people in our group from school as well as the staff at the center where we are staying. And as for what I'm learning: isiZulu!! I love the Zulu people's language, it's interesting and poetic and the people just laugh with us as we try and say things.

Gwenna,
Thanks for the encouragement and I'm definitely trying to soak it all up as much as I can!! I am having a blast and I can't wait to show you the pictures :) I'm praying for your college choice, so keep me updated on that!

Lexi,
I miss you a lot too, I got so excited when I heard about how God was working in your life. I wish I could have been there when you shared I really wanted to pray over you :) and I'll have a bunch of good stories for you when I get back so don't you even worry! And the thing that has impacted my study the most has definitely been seeing the Holy Spirit working first hand in powerful ways as well as subtle ones. It's a reminder that if I want to be used by God it has to be a daily choice to put him first.

I think that's about it... I miss you ladies so much!! Although I do get tea time (tea with tons of cream and sugar and always muffins and cookies or cake) twice a day everyday so it's making up for the dessert I haven't been eating with you all :D

P.s. Send me prayer requests!! or things for me to translate into isiZulu so I can practice!
